This 5,200 SF building is the first of the two building project for the Ahousaht First Nation Waste Water Treatment and Marine Outfall Project located on Flores Island on the west coast of Vancouver Island, BC. The building is for the plant Primary Treatment and Sludge Digestion operations and consists of a Northern Roof system, 2 coat epoxy painted primary steel and galvanized secondary steel. The walls will be covered with a combination of mesh and timber features which will leave the building as primarily open to the outside environment. The structure is designed to support a 2 tonne bridge crane as well as to Post-Disaster design requirements to ensure the building can withstand catastrophic forces of mother nature. Due to the very remote location of the site, MBG had to ensure planning and coordination with trades and suppliers were well executed for the success of the project.
